After hitting Brisbane, ex-tropical cyclone Oswald moved south to pay a visit to the Ballina Shire area. Here are some photos I captured yesterday which show the affects of the severe winds and heavy rainfall.
In Lennox Head, Seven Mile Beach, only a few people were on the beach witnessing the high winds picking up and spreading sand and sea foam.
The severe winds at Boulders Beach Lennox Head, resulted in massive waves of foam.
Both Wardell Rd & Marom Creek Rd in Meerschaum Vale were covered in water.
Emergency crews arrive at the scene of fallen power lines on Bath Street, Wardell.
The very iconic, and very wet, Big Prawn in Ballina.
Update: Three of these photos were published in the Northern Star (Weekend Star) newspaper on the 2 February 2012. I was contacted by a journalist who published a full page article on my events on the day. You can see this under my Achievements page.
